7.30 pm | JAROSLAV TŮMA ORGAN CONCERT Jaroslav Tůma has been awarded the first prizes in organ improvisation competitions in Nuremberg in 1980 and in Dutch Haarlem in 1986. He is also the laureate of numerous interpretation organ competitions, such as A. Bruckner's in Linz in 1978, Prague Spring in 1979, J. S. Bach's in Leipzig in 1980 and many others. His rich concert activities have brought him to the majority of European countries, including Island, the USA, Canada, Japan, Mongolia, Singapore or Republic of South Africa. Concert guest: LIBĚNA SÉQUARDTOVÁ, oboe, she ranks among best players in her specialization, not only in the Czech Republic. Major awards of Eva Urbanová include the Thalia Award for Kostelnička in Janáček's Jenůfa and American Grammy Award for the recording of Celeste Aida: Famous Opera Arias. Her recording of Fibich's Šárka under the baton of Sir Charles Mackerras was nominated for Grammy in 2001. Eva Urbanová sings in various world opera houses, including Milan La Scala and Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she made her debut in 1998.
